Working or playing?...That is the question.

As previously posted about, Mike tilled our yard in preparation for putting in sprinklers, etc. We thought about how to level our yard out better and came up with a solution.
We borrowed a neighbor's 4-wheeler and tied an old crate to it. With the help of Jeffrey we were able to level our yard out for the most part. But I really think that they were just playing!

Fun in the Sun

Yesterday we had our annual Reading boating day. A few of us went up EARLY in the morning to get some water skiing in before the rest of the Readingites came. This is a picture of what we saw while the first person started water skiing at 6:30 a.m. (yes, people that is 6:30 in the morning!)

Even though it was early in the morning, the water was perfect, it wasn't crowed (of course because everyone else was still in bed), and the water was actually not too bad. We had tons of fun! I was able to get up wake boarding for the first time and Mike was able to knee board for the first time. We had a good 3 hours of water skiing, wake boarding, and knee boarding in before some of the other Readingites started showing up.

Yo ho, yo ho, the Reading pirates they be. Kenzie, Nathan, Courtney, and Lexie enjoyed playing around in the inflatable raft.

Parker seemed quite content standing in the water throwing rocks and playing with a stick as his father watched.

Overall, it was a fun day and the weather was great and it was the best being with family!

Wonderful wedding

On July 19th my cousin, Julianne, was married in the Salt Lake Temple. It was a beautiful wedding and the sealing was so touching that at one point there were lots of sniffles and tissues going around. I am so happy for her that she found a wonderful man to love and support her through all her trials. Check out this cute chica! Such a beautiful dress and bride!

Pickin' Rocks

So I thought that I had "served my time" when it came to picking rocks because of all the fun and joys that we had growing up. At my parent's house we were constantly picking rocks in the yard. Last night I began the "rock pickin' " at our house. We began tilling our yard and I followed with a bucket picking up the rocks that I could determine were rocks and not dirt/clay chunks. Mike thinks that we have a lot of rocks in our yard...I keep telling him that we don't and that he needs to work in my parent's yard for a while where you can't even get a shovel down in the ground 2 inches. Anyway, hopefully before the snow starts coming we will have our sprinklers and lawn in.

Family Reunion and Fun!

We had our Lewis family reunion this weekend at our usual Bear Lake location. I grew up having the Lewis family reunions at Bear Lake with many cousins, aunts, uncles, and grandparents. For the last few years my own family has resumed having our immediate Lewis family reunions at Bear Lake. It was fun camping and playing in the water this weekend.

The water of course was cold until you got used to it (or your body just froze to the water temperature so you couldn't tell). The sun was hot, but there was a slight breeze that kept it cold if you were in the shade and had previously been wet. I ended up with my usual Bear Lake sunburn...but the consensus was that my eyes didn't get sunburned as bad as they used to when I was younger. I'm sure that all my extended Lewis family knows what I'm talking about.

We left early on Sunday morning so we could be back and showered for Madison Reading's blessing. It was a fun baby blessing and she looked so cute in her blessing dress!

Look how cute this little family looks!

Happy 4th of July!

We had a wonderful 4th of July being with the Lewis side of the family. As a tradition growing up, the Lewis' would go to the Provo parade and then have a big lunch afterwards. Usually the lunch was at the grandparent's house (three blocks away from the parade), but this year we went to the Bluth's.

I loved this cute little old man who has served our country and survived Pearl Harbor.

Mike even found a new friend. This is my cousin's kid Nathan.

After lunch there was much fun at the Bluth's house. They had a zip-line from the second story of the barn that went all the way across their yard. Then there was also the bungee trampoline set up that they had.

There was fun for all ages and it was great to see extended family that were in town for the week. Happy 4th of July!
