And the flavor is....

For those that have been anxiously wondering and waiting, the flavor of our baby was determined this morning in an ultrasound. And the flavor is....

It's a Girl!!!
Our little chica was modest at first in showing what gender she was. Then she gave us a good look at her entire head and body. Then she chose to look right at us.And of course we were able to see her little leg and foot kicking me during the ultrasound.
And she still likes to kick me!

We are excited to know that this little girl has chosen us to be her parents. Now the great name debate begins! If you have any suggestions for girl names, feel free to share your thoughts so we can figure it out before August 1st.

Weekend in Zions

This last weekend we were able to take a little vacation down to Zions National Park with the Readings. It was a much needed and wonderful vacation! Mike and I went down Friday morning and joined the rest of the crew already down there for some hiking.

It was a beautiful weekend and a much needed vacation! Thanks to all the Readings for all the fun!

Belated Birthday posting

Our nephew's, Spencer, birthday was on March 5th. We celebrated his first birthday with him on the 7th. Due to not having our camera with us, I had to wait for pictures. Spencer had a "beary" cute themed party.
Check out those baby blues...he's going to win some girls' hearts over with those!

18 1/2 weeks

This morning was my monthly checkup on Baby's progress. Baby's heart rate was 150 and the doctor said that everything is looking good and right on track. It took the nurse a while to be able to locate Baby's heart rate. He/She was hiding from the nurse for the first time ever. I have to admit that it scared me for a bit because hearing Baby's heart beat is the thing that I look forward to each month! It is such a reassuring sound to hear that little fast "whooshing" of a heart beat! I think I'm pretty sure that I've felt Baby shake it's little "bon-bon" (a.k.a moving around), but I'm sure that it will become more obvious in the next few weeks.
I have been feeling much better since being in the second trimester. My nausea has pretty much gone away. I do have my once a week visit to the "white throne," but I can't complain. This last week I started experiencing a new thing...heartburn. Luckily that isn't too bad and can be controlled with a few Tums.

Update from the home front

There has not been an update from the home front lately because of changes. We finally finished the family room downstairs a few weeks ago. There are still little things left to do (finish painting doors, mounting our tv, etc.). But since we moved our computer downstairs we were unable to get our internet connection. We love our new family room and are thankful for all the help that we have received in finishing it!

14 1/2 weeks

Today was another baby doctor appointment. I am currently 14 1/2 weeks along. Baby Reading's heart rate was 149 beats per minute. Everything is looking good so far and baby is doing well.
The only thing that I don't like is having to be weighed at each appointment. I kept thinking today...it's only going to get worse! I wore a different pair of shoes today on purpose so that I could take them off prior to being weighed. Later my doctor asked me if I was feeling okay since I had lost weight since my last visit. I explained that I wore a different pair of shoes (the ones I wore last month are massively huge and I can't just slip them off).

As far as how I've been feeling with the pregnancy, things are slowly getting better. I still have my moments of feeling nauseous, but that can be taken care of usually by eating. I find that I am exhausted and tired during the day. But then when it comes to going to bed, it takes me a while to fall and stay asleep. I have a wonderful husband who has been taking care of me! Thanks Honey-Honey!

Our next appointment is the first week in March. And we get to find out the "flavor" (a.k.a. gender) on March 17th.
